Basement Renovation

Greenwich, Connecticut
A Unique Transformation of a Basement Space

The first step in finishing this Greenwich basement was deciding on a floor plan with the client.  We then began construction by installing steel stud framing members.   They are lighter, easier to work with and less expensive then wood, and in locations where structural support is not an issue, as in a basement renovation, they are ideal.

After the steel stud framing process was complete, rough electrical work was performed.  In the case of this renovation, the client desired ceiling mounted down lights.  We also installed electrical outlets every 8 feet, as building codes require. klab2.JPG (46535 bytes)
Exterior walls will receive insulation and a vapor barrier. klab3.JPG (41835 bytes)

Once rough electrical is finished, the room is ready for drywall and taping.

Doors and moldings are then installed.  In this case, the client desired numerous storage closets. klab6.JPG (26625 bytes)
The room is then painted, door hardware is installed and the finish electrical work is completed. klab8.jpg (23648 bytes)
